Description
I have a ton of fabic at home and it's getting ridiculous, so I've set myself a challenge to make some costumes using only fabric I already own as the main fabric (ie. I can stll buy interfacng, tailorng canvas etc if I need it). I'm trying to work through several historical periods too, so I get experience making lots of different styles.
I also hope that it wll help me practise my design skills further by testing my ablity to put fabrics together into a cohesive outfit representative of it's period.
This is the desgn for a c.1810 spencer (jacket) I will be making as my first project. The main fabric is a buff coloured upholstery jacquard with a woven gemetric pattern. The detals eg. cuffs, buttons etc are all in a purple taffeta that matches the tiny spots on the jacquard.
Background pattern is from CG Textures, the pattern for the spencer is the actual fabric, whch I scanned and made into a pattern.
ETA: Fixed the lazy eye! Oops, lol. Thanks ~arna!!

Lovely design and what an excellent project idea! I should do something of the like, but I just enjoy buying fabric too much.
