Mort and Ysabell

These are the final designs for my Honours Project at uni, a.k.a the project that has eaten my life. I cannot wait until uni calms down and I can get some of my fanart WIPs finished!

I'm doing a study of how the semiotics of costume can be used to communicate information to the audience, and looking specifically at their use in plays with a fantasy setting. For the practical element I'm designing and making a pair of costumes for Mort and Ysabell from the stage adaptation of Terry Pratchett's novel Mort.

I've already started work on the costumes themselves, so I thought I would post the designs just to show that I haven't died or anything.

I actually went back to my traditional roots and got out my markers for these designs!! It's been too long! They're kind of mixed media with markers, paint, ink, pencil cayon and some digital bits and pieces added in too.
